What to eat in Melaka : Qasreena Cafe

Melaka is my hometown. And i live in KL for most of my adult life. So whenever i came back i will treasure my mom's cooking hence the almost none knowledge of good food. But my husband is from KL so i need to find somewhere to bring him. Thus the blogwalking commenced.

Since i'm not fond of going to the historical area which always jam packed, so i wanted something near to Ayer Keroh area. And i found this place nice as a gem.

The foods are great and the prices are affordable. I often see the drinks price as my benchmark for affordable. And the normal drinks like Milo, Tea and all that are as affordable as normal gerai. The food also nicely price as you can get the Soto at Rm5.50. The tastes are delicious. My mom ate Soto Nasi Impit and they put fried chicken in it. The combination is superb. I ate the fame Mee racun which actually just a spicy Mee Hailam done right. And their fame Cupid Rose which is Ice cream Soda Bandung and everything taste really delicious.

The price, the portions, the restaurant itself and the taste all match up to become a 5 star restaurant in my judgement. Even my husband who really particular  is satisfied. So, just waze Qasreena Cafe if you're near Ayer Keroh or Bukit Katil area.

Our meal that day consisted of Mee Racun - Rm5.50, Nasi Goreng Collesium Rm 8 (big portion), Soto Nasi Impit - Rm5.50, Cupid Rose Soda - Rm4.50, Coke something ( coke float), Lai Chee Kang Rm3.50, Lychee Ice and Fries... some i forgot the price but our total for this was Rm40.

Qasreena served a lot of food ranging from western, seafood, tradional Malay fare and lots of their own combination.

Hot Pot Restaurant & Cafe, Damansara Damai

This was where we both dine out for dinner on Sunday. It was one of our fav spot and we are one of their loyal customer.  We've been eating here since they are using plastic glass until now. Our fav foods and our order mostly the same every time we come..

Gulai Lemak Cili Api Daging Salai ( Smoke Beef with Chili Sauce) Rm7.90 or Rm6.90...can't remember

Black Pepper Lamb Rm6.90

And my fav Desert that inspired me to do the recipe..see my previous baking on Butter Bread Pudding

Rm 4 something..

The deco was awesome but the price were tad bit expensive for Damansara Damai people so not so many people will dine at time. They'll played blues music all the time and it's soothing to just hang out..they got live band sometimes but i don't remember what day.. the portion was not big for such price but the taste won it for me..and i come for their Gulai Lemak Cili Api Daging Salai and the Butter Bread Pudding..

My bill was around Rm32 ++..and if you want to come here it is situated in Damansara Damai. Find Econsave and go down the road from there.. it is at the Shop lot near a workshop..

Prescott Hotel Klang A La Carte

M n D's Restaurant located just below the conference hall outside the main building. The interior design is cool and comfy with a great food. If you're near or in town and you decide to lunch at this hotel then i suggest you eat Asean Food and don't even look at the western one. I can guarantee your satisfaction cause their Nasi Goreng  Kampung/Thai (not sure) is simply fabulous.

There's and old fridge and iron coconut acting as deco..cool huh

Nasi Goreng Kampung/ Thai (not sure)..a chicken wing + keropok + sambal belacan ( ask them a lot coz it's so delicious) + Mango Strips

Lamb Chop..so small the portion..i was hungry, damn it.. taste so so pulak tu..;P ..
with lots of fries- fat ( i 'm not bb ok, i'm not crazy bout it..huhu)

The price is standard hotel price which by the way will cost you below Rm20 for Asean delight whereas Western will cost you more than Rm20. My boss tried their fish & chips and it's tasty also but the portion is too little and my boss lodge a complain and got more of it + an apology. So if you're not near fussy like me then go for the Malaysian stuff like Nasi Goreng and so on la k..

Nasi Kukus Ayam Berempah

 2.11.2011

Since bb is busy with meeting so i eat in the office today. And actually it was suppose to be my dinner last night but i'm kind of trying to not eat at night. And usually if i don't buy anything to eat so does him. So i just ask him to buy for me Ayam Berempah but i don't eat it... so it's my lunch for today..

Nuking it..

Since my office got microwave then i just need to nuke it and my lunch will be as hot as just prepared..ha ha..nice huh..

Just finished nuke..

My lunch today..yummy..plus hot choco ;) enjoyed

This Nasi Ayam Berempah is so delicious that they just open up a shop in front of the stall they using. Wow right and the price is reasonable with big chicken part and also lots of rice. Just Rm5..really worth it. If you all would like to try it just head to Damansara Damai Flat Sri Idaman i think. You have to pass Max Value on your left hand side and then you'll see the flat. You'll see the shop lot and look for shop named Nasi Kukus Utara.

Since they open up a shop you can also go there for lunch ( we've been there one time since we're near)..he he..and thanks bb for this lunch and for rushing to fetch me yesterday after work for scared i got caught in rain..xoxo..hope your meeting went well ;)

Sri Gombak Sate

28.10.2011

For Sate one of my favorite foods the nearest i would like to go to enjoy it is at Sri Gombak. The stall is next to Selera Anda shop. It's like Medan Selera and you have to take the second way in to Sri Gombak for nearest route. This direction only compatible if you're from Selayang not from Melawati route. The Medan Selera would situated beside the 3 petrol station in Sri Gombak, Shell-BP /Esso-Petronas. Selera Anda would be the first shop from the route and the last if you see the petrol station first on your right hand side.

In Kajang my favaorite Sate would be the restaurant just beside the Prescott Metro Inn Kajang. That Sate was awesome also. I am avoiding Hj Samuri's sate since it's really doesn't suit my taste. It's big , yeah and expensive also but the meat doesn't seem tender and burn nicely.

Sri Gombak sate is tender, cooked like i like it and the gravy is really nice. You just got to try it. Yesterday night i went there with my bb cause we sort of don't know where to head up for dinner.

One stick of Sate is Rm 0.60 and we ordered 15pcs ( Rm9). Apart from that i ordered cockles , bb ordered Tomyam Poktek ( got crab, lala , prawn and squid) -Rm7 and we took Lai Chi Kang.Overall the price inclusive Sate was Rm21 only.

Normally i would order Sup Tulang cause i felt that in this shop it is one of the best Sup Tulang also la. Surely cannot beat the one my father always make for me and what is found in Melaka. But this one decent enough for me to like it.
