Last Day of Chinese New Year

Yesterday we go out to eat after went back from Melaka for the last day of Chinese New Year. So fast time flew. If Hari Raya we will celebrate it for a month. Anyway we went back house first, put our stuff and see tv and then a reruns of Singapore food whatever was on air on AFC. And they showed Chilli Crab. Well as we both prone to be manipulated by food programs so we decide to eat Crab for our Chap Goh Mei's dinner. We went out around 5 something and looking for a Crab speciality restaurant and found it. Luckily we were early cause after our food arrive, people start arriving for dinner also and the place gotten really pack.

Anyway these were our dinner for Chap Goh Mei and it's super tasty. I especially like the Mantao and the Crab as well. Like usual we drank Chinese tea and just enjoyed our serene and best dinner. And since it's just raining the ambience was really wonderful..

Just glad that we got there early and got the nicest food..yummeh ;)

Gong Xi Fa Cai

Xinnian Kuaile everybody!

First day of Chinese New Year. My body hurts like hell cause yesterday very late cleaning our house. My plan is actually to cook for dinner but then Uncle Phillip ( he ask me to call him Phillip..so cute)  asked us for shopping trip at KLCC inclusive lunch. Anyhow my plan to cook was thwarted. And we went KLCC for shopping trip.

After back from shopping we hang out a bit for a chat and later on going to Rawang to Uncle Robin's house pulak for dinner. We pretty fast kow tim there so can go home to clean our house. And today my body hurts like hell only.

Oh yeah, before that we went for buying duck at Petaling Street at 4 a.m in the morning. Wow, a full record for me sleeping for only 2 hours yesterday. Anyway new experience and enjoyable culture change. But it would be nice to spend time with family as well. Guess we can't ask for much in this life. Just hoping everyone would be happy, healthy and being loved. To accept the good things in life instead of shunning it cause life is just too short and family is just important. And sometimes times just fly by and you'll regret it when times already too late..

Peanut Cookies for Chinese New Year

I don't really like peanut cookies. Not because of acne - i never got them- but just don't. But it's sort of traditional cookies for the new year so i'm embracing the culture. Last nite i tried recipe using margerine but sadly back fired.. so just don't use that kind of recipe..

This morning i'm using recipe using oil..

ok i'm not the weighting type of person when it comes to baking. For me either using ratios or using my guts. This time using ratios and cups.

1 cup of flour
1 cup of peanuts chunks( fry without oil and get rid of their skins and then blender it to fine chunks)
1/2 cup of sugar ( i don't have icing sugar so i blender normal sugar)
Oil ( i'm just using normal minyak masak buruh - better to use Mazola, Corn or other also)
Egg yolk for cookies slather
Pinch of salt

So just mix flour, peanut and sugar. Then use the oil to make a doh. Until you can actually make tiny bits of the round ball.

Then slather egg yolk before you put the cookies in the oven. I'm using 180 celcius with 15 minutes times frame. There you go. I think it's a decent peanut cookies and it's really easy to make as well..

P.s : I've given some to my dear's friends and uncle and they said it's tasty but the nuts needs to be fine grind. Mine got a bits of chunks so not so smooth/melt in the mouth ;) so there's the lesson learnt for my next batch of cookies..
